River’s Edge Academy Charter School (REACH) is a personalized learning school serving students in grades K-12. Primary Teacher responsibilities include: evaluating student work, monitoring attendance, keeping grade book up-to-date, weekly contacts with students, via face-to-face meetings, emails, chats, and phone calls. Instructors may have a flexible work schedule based on the students they are serving.

Successful applicants must have the ability to work independently, communicate effectively and motivate a diverse population of learners. A working knowledge of office productivity products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), web browsers (IE, Safari, and Firefox) and search engines (Google) is required.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Oregon teaching license with appropriate endorsement (multiple endorsement areas are highly encouraged)

                 or

• Registered with a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution

Minimum Teacher Requirements:

• Instructors will establish weekly office hours during which students and parents may contact them by phone, email or face-to-face.
• Instructors will be Highly Qualified in the area of instruction they are hired to provide, and will provide instruction that is rigorous and meets grade level state benchmarks.
• Able to check email daily and respond within 24 hours unless holiday or weekend.
• Available and willing to meet face-to-face with students and parents weekly
• Operational knowledge of the Internet and web-based technologies
• Strong communication skills – written, oral, telephone, e-mail
• Computer with High Speed Internet Connection
• Completion of REACH training course for teachers
• Complete 5 follow-up conference calls with REACH mentor
• Attend mandatory faculty meetings throughout the year
• Participate in professional learning community
